Solar Repair & Diagnostics in Wilmington, NC
If your solar system has stopped reporting, shows an error, or is producing less than expected, Pamlico Electric & Solar can help investigate. We provide solar diagnostics and repair services in Wilmington and throughout Pender, Brunswick and New Hanover counties, as well as other areas of Eastern North Carolina.
We start with the symptoms, equipment details, and available monitoring data to determine the next step. A monitoring outage doesn’t always mean the panels have stopped producing. We explain service charges before booking and discuss recommended repairs once the cause is identified.

When to Have Your Solar System Checked
An inverter alert, missing monitoring data, or an unexplained drop in production is a reason to have your system checked. Weather and seasonal changes affect output, so a lower reading alone doesn’t necessarily mean something is broken.
Send us the equipment model, any error messages, and when you first noticed the issue. Monitoring screenshots and photos of the equipment can help us determine whether remote troubleshooting or an on-site visit is the right next step.
Information to Send With a Solar Service Request
Include your property address, panel and inverter models if known, the date the issue started, any error messages, and screenshots from the monitoring app. Let us know whether the system is producing less energy, has stopped reporting, or has had recent roof or electrical work. These details help us review the problem and explain the appropriate next step.
From Troubleshooting to Repair
We review the reported problem, available monitoring data, and equipment history. If an on-site visit is needed, we explain the travel charge and hourly labor rate before scheduling.
During the visit, we inspect and test the system to identify the cause. We explain our findings, recommended repairs, and any parts or follow-up work needed. Some issues can be resolved during the first visit; others require replacement equipment or coordination with the manufacturer.

We confirm service charges before booking. Total repair cost depends on the time, parts, and any follow-up visits required. Remote-only support does not incur a travel charge.
Does a monitoring error mean my panels stopped producing?
Not necessarily. A communication problem can interrupt reporting even when equipment is operating. Send the alert and the last available monitoring information so the issue can be assessed. An unexplained production change may need a different investigation from a reporting-only problem.
What does a solar service visit cost?
Labor is $165 per technician per hour, with a one-hour minimum and parts additional. Travel is charged separately according to the one-way driving time from our Wilmington office. For one technician within one hour of the office, the first-hour example is $365 before parts. We explain the applicable charges before booking. See the full service pricing for other travel bands and additional work.
How should I request a solar maintenance check?
Describe the concern, equipment and any service history when you request a system check. Monitoring results, error messages and changes in production help identify what needs attention. The service scope and charges should be confirmed before a visit; a maintenance inquiry does not automatically include cleaning, a recurring plan or replacement parts.
