Backup Power for What Matters Most

Keep the essentials running when the power goes out. Pamlico Electric & Solar installs battery backup for homes and businesses in Wilmington and across Eastern North Carolina.

We start with what you want to power, then recommend a system around those needs. Whether you already have solar or are starting fresh, we explain the equipment, installation cost, and what affects your backup runtime.

Power When You Need It

Battery storage gives you a reserve of electricity for outages. Paired with compatible solar, it can also store daytime production for use later.

We size your system around the equipment you want to run, from refrigeration, lights, and internet to larger loads such as heating and cooling. Backup time depends on battery capacity, how much electricity you use, and whether solar can recharge the system during the outage.

Tesla Powerwall

Considering Tesla Powerwall? We’ll review your electrical setup, existing solar equipment, and backup priorities to determine whether it fits your property.

Your proposal will identify the model, number of batteries, and installation work included. We’ll also explain which loads the proposed system can support and how your electricity use affects backup time.

FranklinWH

FranklinWH is another option for storing energy and backing up your home. We evaluate your power needs and existing equipment to determine the appropriate battery capacity and installation scope.

If you want to combine batteries with solar or a generator, we’ll check compatibility and explain how the proposed equipment would work together. Your quote will identify the components, electrical work, and backup coverage included.

Choosing Battery Backup for Your Property

Start with the loads you want to keep running and the length of outage you want to plan for. Battery capacity, power output, the selected circuits and available solar recharge affect the design. We can discuss Tesla Powerwall and FranklinWH options where they fit the property and compatible equipment. The proposal should identify the selected system and the installation work included.

Battery Incentives & Utility Programs

Available incentives and utility programs can affect the cost of battery storage. Eligibility depends on your utility, equipment, installation, and the program’s current requirements.

Before including an incentive in your budget, confirm that your project qualifies and understand any enrollment or operating conditions. Your proposal separates the installation price from potential incentives so you can see the cost clearly.

Batteries & Generators

For longer outages, a compatible generator can complement battery backup. Some systems allow the generator to supply household loads and recharge the batteries when solar production or stored energy isn’t enough.

Compatibility depends on the battery system, generator, and control equipment. We review the proposed setup before recommending integration and explain how it will operate, including fuel needs and any limits on generator charging.

Battery Backup Pricing

13–16 kWh: $17,000–$21,000
27–32 kWh: $25,000–$33,000
40–48 kWh: $26,000–$37,000

These estimated ranges include battery equipment, required inverter or backup controls, and installation. New solar panels are priced separately.
Pricing includes required permits, plans and engineering, applicable utility interconnection and NCUC filings, associated fees, and utility service-drop work included in your project scope.

Your price depends on equipment selection, compatibility with your existing system, and installation requirements. Ranges overlap because some equipment options provide more storage at a lower cost.

These ranges describe complete installed systems. Expanding compatible battery storage is priced separately based on the equipment and work required. We also offer battery diagnostics and troubleshooting, with service charges confirmed before booking.
Prices are before incentives. Major electrical modifications and unusually complex installations may cost more.

Can a battery be added to an existing solar system?

It may be possible, depending on the existing inverter, electrical equipment and battery configuration. Send your system details so compatibility and any required changes can be reviewed before pricing the work.

How long will a home battery last during an outage?

Runtime depends on the installed capacity, the loads being supplied, the battery’s charge level and any available solar recharge. A small group of essential circuits and a whole-home backup arrangement can have very different requirements. We discuss the intended use when planning the system.

What is included in battery installation pricing?

Our pricing page lists ranges for complete installed systems, including the required controls or inverter and installation. New solar, expansion of compatible storage and unusually complex electrical work may need separate pricing. Review the proposed equipment and scope before comparing totals.
